I eat books and get eaten by them. It's an uncomplicated relationship.

I'm co-blogger at YA Fanatic as well.

All These Things I've Done - Gabrielle Zevin Sixteen year-old Anya becomes the head of a mafia family after her parents are both murdered by rival gangs. Although Anya is embrolied in the criminal world, she is determined to keep her brother and sister out of the mafia family, but her father's relatives aren't so keen to let them go. When Anya's violent ex-boyfriend is poisoned with contaminated chocolate – chocolate that is produced illegally by Anya's mafia family – she is arrested for attempted murder and sent to the notorious jail on Manhattan Island.

Eventually she is freed by the new D.A. in town, who believs she has been framed. But this D.A. is the father of Win, a boy at school to whom Anya feels irresistibly drawn, and her freedom comes with conditions. Win's father wants to be mayor, and he can't risk having his ambition jeopardised by rumours spreading that his son is seeing a member of a notorious crime family. Anya knows she risks the safety of her family by seeing Win again, but the feeling between them may be too strong to resist...

want to sum up All These Things I've Done altogether ?

->it belongs to the dystopian genre and is seems hardly dystopian.
->great synopsis , great start and then they all fall down .
->a highly annoying protagonist .
->too much 'daddy' reference .
->there should be a big explanation as to why Chocolate and Coffee are banned . unfortunately , there seems to be none .
(seriously why would you ban THEM ?!)
->repetition of how pure damaged and alone Anya Balanchine ( our protagonist) truly is .

these were how my emotions went along with the book.

1. bookshop survey , THIS book found . A little bit of excitement because i could recollect it being mentioned somewhere .

2.after reading the synopsis i was almost certain to buy this one and so i did . *excitement rises*

3.Coffee , book and music . *peace*

4.'oh so Coffee and Chocolate are banned' why ? no answer .

5.Anya's boyfriend goes to the hospital and she's accused of poisoning him . *i thought FINALLY the plot has begun!*

6.and then she comes out and the whole story takes a turn towards being boring . *and the plot ENDS.*

7.bland love story . *i cry as I'm the love-stories-fan-girl .*

8.Anya became more annoying with not only her thoughts but also her constant mention of her Dad .

“Daddy always said you only explained things to the people that actually mattered.”

“Daddy always said you only explained things to the people that actually mattered.”

“Daddy always said that an option that you know to have a bad outcome is only a fool's option, i.e., not an option at all. And I liked to think that Daddy hadn't raised a fool.”

(at this point i was like ,"he definitely raised a fool" -.- )

and then ....

“It's a weakness to apologize before hearing what the other person's grievances are. You don't want to end up creating new grievances where there were none to begin with. Another Daddy-ism, if you hadn't already guessed.”

(i respect the fact that you miss and respect your dad but seriously Anya ...GROW UP ! )

9.i'm one of those people who finish a book even if it's not worth the time . so yes i continued with it .

10.the book ends .
and i'm left with disappointment .
